Why have a Trademark?

A registered trade mark protects a brand, logo or trade name which you use in connection with your business. Many business owners are unaware of the value attached to their trade name or logo until someone else tries to appropriate it. If you do not register your brand as a trade mark, it is much more difficult, expensive and even impossible to prevent someone else from using your brand in competition with you.

Trade mark registration is straightforward and inexpensive compared with other forms of intellectual property protection. It is likely to be one of the cheapest investments you make into your business. A registered trade mark will maximise the value you can get from your business should you chose to sell it in the future.

Why come to us?

Mitchell Mackersy Lawyers has a specialist team that can advise on registrability of your mark both in New Zealand and overseas and will provide you with an upfront quotation for the costs involved so you can build it into your budget. We provide trade mark services to clients all over New Zealand but are one of the few providers in the South Island and will provide you with a cost effective and personal service, which is relevant to your whole business structure. We can also provide you with advice on how best to protect your intellectual property as a whole through your business structure.
